Acknowledgements to First Nations and Survivors of Abuse
Moaz respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we live, learn, work, and play.
Moaz’s head office is on the Country of the Boonwurrung/Bunurong and Wurrundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation.
We recognise their continuing connection to the land and waterways. We pay respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
As a Jewish organisation, we acknowledge both the Jewish Nation and the Eastern Koolin Nation as First Nation peoples, each with their own stories, traditions, histories, and living cultures.
In addition to having ancestral homelands, we both recognise the important roles child safety and wellbeing play in the continuation of the cultural and spiritual practices of our peoples, and the future of our communities.
Jewish Australians and Australian First Nations people have often worked together in the pursuit of social justice and human rights. We will continue to strive for a healthy, unified, respectful, and thriving Australian community that values First Nations’ peoples’ experiences of the past, resilience in the present, and hopes for the future.
We pay our respects to all victims and survivors who have shared their testimony, so that we may learn to better protect children and young people. We also honour those who have been prevented from testifying and offer strength to those dealing with trauma and those whose voices can no longer be heard.
